AGAT
AGAT, formally JSC "AGAT – Control Systems," is a Belarusian defence-electronics company headquartered in Minsk that manages the state-linked Geoinformation Control Systems holding, one of the largest enterprises under Belarus's State Military Industrial Committee (Goskomvoenprom). The company traces its roots to NIISA, a Minsk scientific research institute for automation equipment founded in 1969, which was reorganised into the open joint-stock company AGAT – Control Systems in 2011.
History and products
AGAT develops automated command-and-control systems and unmanned systems for the Belarusian armed forces and State Border Committee, including the catapult-launched Berkut-2E tactical UAV. Goskomvoenprom announced in 2015 that AGAT had upgraded the in-service Berkut-2 fleet, reinforcing the catapult launcher, replacing servo actuators with magnetic ones, and substituting Belarusian-made components for previously foreign-sourced automatic-control and payload hardware.
