Survey Copter
Survey Copter is a French company that designs, builds and supports mini-UAV systems, and a subsidiary of the Airbus group. Army Recognition describes it as a pioneer in mini-UAVs for both military and civil customers.
History and products
Survey Copter's TRACKER family of hand-launched mini-UAVs is its best-known product line: the earlier TRACKER, developed with EADS (Airbus's predecessor), supplied the airframe and cameras for the French Army's DRAC (Drone de Reconnaissance Au Contact) reconnaissance system, which EADS integrated with its own ground station and datalink and began delivering to the French Ministry of Defence in 2008, with a further 35 systems delivered in January 2010. Shephard Media reported at the time that the TRACKER system had already been exported beyond France. Survey Copter went on to show a newer version, the TRACKER120, carrying an EO/IR gyrostabilised turret, at Eurosatory 2016. The company's other mini-UAV, the catapult-launched, net-recovered DVF 2000, is also designed for intelligence, surveillance and monitoring missions for military and civil customers.
